Rihanna the queen of the 2023 Super Bowl
Everyone in America knows that the Super Bowl is one of the most important sports events: as we wait four years for the European football championship, Americans wait every year for this big tournament.
If the people of the New Continent know perfectly what it is, well… we don't.
So, what is it?
The Super Bowl is the annual final playoff game of the National Football League (the NFL) to appoint the League champion.
The first game was played in 1966 and it is assigned the year after the ongoing season (for example, the team that won the Super Bowl of this year is the winner of the 2022 season).
The biggest ambition is to win the "Vince Lombardi Trophy", named after the Italian-American coach Vince Lombardi who won the first two Super Bowl editions.
This year, in the State Farm Stadium of Glandale, Arizona, Kansas City won the game, but well, the Super Bowl is not only known as a game, not at all.
A lot of companies take advantage of this competition to get advertisements, and celebrities are called to promote the thing: Cardi B and Offset promoted McDonald's, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez promoted Dunkin' Donuts and others.
But the highlight of the whole event is the halftime show, where a famous singer entertains the crowd singing a list of songs, the best known usually.
This year it was Rihanna's turn, and I have to say: what a show!
During the half time of the match, the lights lit her up standing on a platform, suspended with four wires, dressed in red, and the thing that surprised the stadium -and all the 113.6 million Americans who were watching- was her baby bump, highlighted because of the lights' effects.
All her fans cried in joy: the second child is coming to Fenty house!
She sang "B--- Better Have My Money", "Where Have You Been?", "Only Girl in the World", "We Found Love", "Rude Boy", "Work", "Wild Thoughts", "Pour It Up", "All of the Lights", "Run This Town", "Umbrella", "Diamonds", some of her most famous songs.
All we can say now is: we wish all the best for you and your baby-to-be!
